# Nostr Services

> Nostr Services (operated by 21 Million LLC) builds open, decentralized infrastructure for
> the Nostr protocol: private messaging, relays, media hosting and portable identity. Every
> service is usable by any Nostr client — no account with us is required to use the protocol.

Nostr is a simple, open protocol for a censorship-resistant global social network. Users hold
their own keys, publish signed events, and relays pass those events along. Nostr Services runs
the pieces that clients need but that are tedious to self-host.
